Travelling to School
We actively encourage students and families to consider walking or cycling as sustainable and healthy options for getting to school. We also encourage parents and students to explore other local transport options, keeping convenience and safety in mind.
Cycling or walking to school helps reduce our environmental impact but also promote physical activity and well-being by:
- keeping us fit and healthy
- helping our students develop road safety skills which will keep them safe as they travel further afield and more independently
- helping keep our local air clean, and our streets free from congestion
- developing life skills that everyone should be able to benefit from

ModeShift Stars
We were thrilled to have been awarded a 'Very Good' accreditation by Modeshift Stars. This prestigious recognition celebrates our commitment to supporting cycling, walking, and other forms of sustainable travel to and from school, and we are the first secondary school in South Gloucestershire to have been awarded this level of accreditation.
E-Scooters
If your child has access to an e-scooter, please make sure you read this important information from the Head of Road Safety at Avon & Somerset Constabulary.
E-scooters come under the category of 'powered transporters' and are classed as motor vehicles under the Road Traffic Act 1988. This means the rules that apply to motor vehicles, also apply to e-scooters, including the need to have a licence and insurance.
