Wild West wildlife film competition for teenagers!
ARK is a charitable project in Bristol that helps young people connect with nature through wildlife filmmaking and photography, and they have an exciting opportunity over summer this year!
ARK is teaming up with the West of England Combined Authority to run Wild West, a free youth film and photography competition running from May 10th to August 31st.
They’re challenging young people aged 13-18 to connect with the nature in their neighbourhood and take photos or make short films for the chance to win some great prizes, including a Canon R100 camera and a family stay at Bluestone, a luxury National Park resort. Shortlisted entries will also be displayed publicly at the Wildscreen Festival in October and featured on the Wildscreen ARK platform.
It’s important that young people feel that nature is for them, so to make the competition as inclusive as possible, only photos or footage shot on smartphones can be submitted. ARK are also be providing support resources on Wildscreen ARK to help them on their way. The most important thing is that they take some time in nature and learn a little more about the skills and opportunities involved in creating nature content.
