Y8 Mentoring Day

We recently took a group oy Year 8 students to Ascent Flight Training as part of a Mentoring day kindly organised by the Ablaze programme. 

Students were given their Ascent ID badges and welcomed as members of the team for the day. In groups they were assigned mentors to sources the next aircraft to be used in their flight. They did this by interviewing members of staff from Ascent, researching all the various options and then presenting their findings to the panel and fellow students.

The students started the day understandably nervous and by the end of they day were brimming with confidence which was a joy and proud moment to see!

It was an event that the Winterbourne Careers team, the mentors and the students all gained so much.
