Virtual Work Experience Opportunity, exclusively for WA students
Dear Year 10, 11 and 12 Students and their Parent(s) / Carer(s),
I am very pleased to announce that the Careers Team at Winterbourne Academy have just secured the following amazing Virtual Work Experience (VWEx) opportunities with some of our local, large and well-respected employers. Please see the summary below and more detailed information in the coloured boxes below, about the opportunities available.
Three-day Work Experience opportunities:
- A three-day work experience with Babcock Marine for students at Winterbourne Academy interested in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (29th June - 1st July)
- A three-day work experience with West of England Combined Authority for Winterbourne Academy students interested in local environmental issues (28th - 30th June)
One-day Work Experience opportunities:
- A one-day work experience with HSBC for students at Winterbourne Academy interested in the culture, benefits, mission and breadth of opportunities available at HSBC (29th June only)
As we must ensure that everything is in place for next week and that each organisation has the required student details, we must ask you to email office@winterbourneacademy.org.uk by 12.00 noon on Thursday 24th June to express an interest in the opportunity. In the email, please include the following information; name of student, date of birth, tutor group, school email address and the VWEx opportunity they are interested in. As these opportunities are next week, we must allocate places based on a first come first serve basis. However, we will ensure that any students unable to secure places on this occasion are notified if, as a school, we are allocated places in the future.
Please be aware: To engage with these Virtual Work Experience opportunities students will need access to a device and to ensure that they can access Google Classroom with their device.
