Press Release - 18th August 2022

Winterbourne Academy students celebrate A-level success.

Winterbourne Academy is thrilled to share the excellent results achieved by A-level and Level 3 students this year; with 78% of all grades A*-C or Distinction*-Merit, and 33% at A*-A or Distinction*-Distinction. 12 students attained all A* or A grades or equivalent.

We are incredibly proud of the resilience and determination shown by our students throughout their time in Post 16, as they adapted to the demands of Level 3 courses through such challenging times.

Headteacher, Jason Beardmore, stated:

““This year, Winterbourne students have once again come through with excellent A-level results. There have been many standout achievements by individuals whilst consistent and impressive achievement in a wide range of subjects across the board is testament to a solid and broad post-16 curriculum and strong teaching at Winterbourne.

Along with parents and carers, Winterbourne staff and governors wish our young people all the very best for the future.”

Pass rates remain extremely strong throughout the curriculum at Winterbourne with students scoring highly across academic and vocational subjects demonstrating the strengths of the broad curriculum on offer at the academy and across the Olympus Post 16 Partnership.

These results reflect the efforts of students, staff and families and the praise for Post 16 provision as well as the wider curriculum in the recent Ofsted inspection (May 2022).

The Winterbourne Academy staff are incredibly proud of all Year 13 students and wish them all the very best to all our leavers who are moving on to gap years, apprenticeships, universities and employment. Well done!
