The staff and governors at Winterbourne Academy are thrilled to share our provisional A Level results in this, the first year of the brand new specifications. The added level of rigour and difficulty of the new specifications has not daunted Winterbourne students, for whom both attainment and point score remain very strong.
We are extremely pleased to announce an improvement in the overall pass rate from 2018, with the 2019 pass rate now sitting at 98% for A Level.
Since 2018 results, we have seen rises in achievement in multiple pass rate measures including A*-B, A*-C and A*-E. This year, we are thrilled to confirm that over 20% of our students achieved A*-A grades, just under 50% achieved A*-B and 77% achieved A*-C. Additionally, at 98% this year’s pass rate is sitting higher than the national for 2018, which was in itself based on the old, un-revised specifications.

Many of our students have amazing results this year, with a number scoring top grades in academic and vocational courses, and, crucially, overall Winterbourne Academy students have met or exceeded national expectations for value-added.
