Bad weather
Dear parents.
As I am sure you are all aware, the forecast for this evening remains unchanged: heavy snow in the Bristol area.
In order to be as proactive as possible and avoid any last-minute decisions, I have decided to postpone year 9 parents' evening, which was due to take place tonight (Thursday 31st). ALL after school activities will also be cancelled today
With regards to tomorrow (Friday) we will be following our severe weather protocols and I will be making a decision on opening/ partial opening/ closure by 7:15 a.m. Until you hear otherwise, assume Winterbourne is open tomorrow (Friday).
Please check e-mails, texts and the school web-site periodically over the next few days.
I regret if the postponement of our parents’ evening causes you inconvenience. Whilst I appreciate that no forecast can be 100% reliable, I feel it is prudent on this occasion to be guided by safety considerations.
I will contact you with revised arrangements for the parents’ evening as soon as possible.
